About Us
AGEDI is a non-profit association established by music producers to collectively manage the rights that the Intellectual Property Law (Revised Text of 12th April 1996) grants to phonogram producers. It is the collective management society for producers of phonograms and music videos.
The Ministry of Culture granted AGEDI the preceptive authorisation by Order of 15th February 1989 (BOE 11th March 1989).
Among its members there are majors, medium and small size producers, as well as agents. Currently there are 480 members, among which 440 are member companies and 40 are agents representing dozens of producers. On their behalf, AGEDI manages the rights over millions of phonograms and music videos from national and international repertoire.
According to AGEDI’s Articles of Association, the society’s purpose is, among others, the collective management of rights corresponding to phonograms producers regarding:
- the public communication of their sound recordings and music videos
- their reproduction exclusively for direct or indirect public communication
- the private copying equitable remuneration
