The bilateral agreement between AGEDI and GVL (the German collecting society of phonogram producers and performers), recently signed for the management of rights of independent companies represented by both societies in the two countries, is now fully operational with retroactive effect from 2020.
Thus, AGEDI adds a new important European Union territory to those already being managed by means of bilateral agreements, so that rights generated in Germany for the use of recordings owned by AGEDI members shall be paid by GVL to AGEDI to be distributed among its relevant members. Similarly, rights generated in Spain for the use of recordings owned by German independent phonogram producers shall be distributed to their relevant owners through GVL.
AGEDI keeps working on signing bilateral agreements to the extent possible, to allow the management of rights of the members of AGEDI in as many territories abroad.
