Recording producer Manolo Díaz receives the Honour Award 2025, granted by AGEDI’s Board of Directors, first time the recipient is a professional and not an artist
[Madrid, 18 February 2025] AGEDI – Entidad de Gestión de Derechos de Propiedad Intelectual. that gathers and represent phonographic producers in Spain published today the winners of the 6th Edition of the Odeón Awards 2025. These awards recognise most successful 2024 recording works by Spanish artists (except for the International and Latin categories) who have achieved more success in terms of sales, as they cater to the musical tastes of the Spanish public, who, by purchasing or streaming the awarded albums and songs, have placed them as the most successful of 2024. A total of 26 awards in different categories by genre, including the Best Live Tour 2024 Odeón award, produced by 12 record labels, highlighting the strong state of the recorded music industry in our country.
All award-winners 2025
The Album of the Year Award goes again to the urban genre, awarding the prise to Sakura, by Saiko (Saikoneta). This young artist from Granada, that won the Best New Urban Artist in the previous edition, receives the year’s highest recognition with his second studio work, as confirmed on the official annual Promusicae and AGEDI sales charts, where he stayed for 6 weeks on Top 1 Albums, remaining in charts since the album’s release (41 weeks so far).
The Song of the Year goes to the viral phenomenon of 2024, Potra Salvaje, by Isabel Aaiún (Ahoraluego), that has accompanied us even in the celebrations of the Spanish football team after winning the 2024 European Championship. The Video of the Year award is received by Lola Índigo (Universal Music Spain) La Reina, a piece where Lola and Mimi defy each other in a dance challenge that ends crowned as music video of the year.
The 2025 Live Tour of the Year Odeón Award goes to Melendi’s 20 años sin noticias, the cherry on top of his celebration of 20 years in music with the same name album 20 años sin noticias (Sony Music Spain), touring life the country along more than 50 cities and reaching over 600.000 concertgoers. This award is granted in collaboration with the Association APM (Music Promoters Association), certifying the tours ranking 2024 in their Life Music Yearbook 2025.
Besides, in 2025 AGEDI Board of Directors decided to grant the Odeón Honour Award, for the first time to a professional and not to an artist. AGEDI’s President, Antonio Guisasola, presented this award to the recording industry top executive Manolo Díaz, already retired, for his great contribution to the development of the Spanish and Latin American music along the last sixty years. The award was presented coinciding with the presentation, last week, of his book of memoirs Ayer tuve un sueño (Belén Carreño – Debate Publishers).
Moving on to the genres categories, the most notable pop works in 2024 are El último día de nuestras vidas (Sony Music Spain), by Dani Martín, that got the Best Pop Album 2025 in just 4 weeks since its release; Best Pop Song is Dani Fernández’s Me has invitado a Bailar (Warner Music Spain); and Catalan Figa Flawas become the 2024 Pop New Artist, with their achievement of bringing Catalan music to the State music scene.
Best Urban Album goes to Quevedo’s Buenas Noches (DQE Productions), second studio album that ended with months of silence that followed his super successful début. The collaboration of Saiko with JC Reyes and Dei V, BadGyal (Saikoneta), gives the Granada singer his second award, with the Best Urban Song; besides, el Cano becomes the Urban New Artist. Talking about Rock, Carolina Durante’s third studio recording album has earned them the Best Rock Album award for Elige tu propia aventura (Universal Music Spain/Sonido Muchacho), whereas Arde Bogotá repeats as Best Rock Song, La Torre Picasso (Sony Music Spain), closing their explosive Cowboy de la A3 journey with an unexpected 8-minute song. On the other hand, the 2024 Rock New Artist award goes to Alcalá Norte, who have undoubtedly caught the attention of both the public and critics.
This year, the awards in the alternative music category are shared between Ejército de Salvación (Warner Music Spain) by Love of Lesbian, for best alternative album, Hermosa Casualidad (Universal Music Spain/Sonido Muchacho), the collaboration between Sen Senra and Aitana for best alternative song, and the very young promise of Spanish music, Judeline, who wins the best alternative artist award in 2024.
In Flamenco, Antoñito Molina’s second studio album, El club de los soñadores (Pies Records), earns the award for best flamenco album, and Que me lleve el aire (Sound Blaster Records) by Luis Cortés wins the award for best flamenco song. The flamenco new artist award goes to one of the most prominent young flamenco talents of the moment, Yerai Cortés.
Latin and International Categories
Colombia dominates the Latin category, with the Odeón Award for best Latin album once again going to a woman from that country, as Las mujeres ya no lloran (Sony Music) by Shakira wins the award, confirming her success in Spain. The other Colombian star of the moment, Karol G, receives the Odeón Award for best Latin song for Si antes te hubiera conocido (Universal Music), and the Latin new artist award goes to Kapo, from Cali.
The list of winners is rounded off by the “repeat winner” Taylor Swift, who receives the award for best international album once again with The Tortured Poets Department (Universal Music); Santa (Sony Music), a collaboration between Rvssian, Rauw Alejandro, and Ayra Starr, wins the award for best international song, and the new pop-rock idol from the United States, Benson Boone, is named international new artist, adding another recognition in our country.
Award Presentation
From today, the Odeón Awards’ social media will be the stage where details about all the winners will be revealed. The ones responsible for this will be music journalists Ana Medina, Angel Carmona, and Laura Piñeiro.
The award-winning artists have received a sculpture designed by Suso33, a well-known urban artist who had previously designed the trophies for past editions of these awards.
